Nora Neumann recently obtained a Master's Degree in Education from Arcadia University with a concentration in Library Science. She is also the recipient of the 2011 Pennsylvania School Library Association Student Librarian Award. A former Labor and Delivery Nurse at Chestnut Hill Hospital Nora decided to pursue her love of reading and working with children when Chestnut Hill Hospital stopped delivering babies.
She has learned a great deal at Arcadia University and through her internships with the Springfield Townships Librarians. She believes that while helping children to develop a love of reading is still very much a vital part of today’s libraries, technology integration and the process of information literacy also plays a significant role. Information literacy is a process that students will use throughout their lives. The media specialist through collaboration with the classroom teacher can promote information literacy and work toward the common goal of helping our students to become information literate.

Nora has always enjoyed reading and working with children. She is an avid reader of children's and young adult literature. She believes that a library is a special and welcoming place that students will enjoy coming to whether it is to find their next great read or to complete a research assignment. It is here they can relax with a good book or be actively engaged in the learning process as they create, explore and discover.
